Mission Zero Hawaii sprouted from the desire to accelerate the integration of electric vehicles (EV) into society in order to curb fossil fuel usage. In 2017 founder Dan Erickson attended the Pacific Island Energy Conference. It was there that he learned upsetting news: although great progress was being made on the renewable energy front, the adoption of electric vehicles was atrociously low! As a resident of the beautiful island of Kauai, he saw the tourism industry as an opportunity to get people in the driver’s seat and experience EVs first hand. Thus, Mission Zero Hawaii (MZH) was born!
We are proud to be the FIRST exclusively electric vehicle rental company in Hawaii! By providing EV rentals, we supply visitors with a sustainable mode of transportation while visiting our beautiful island. Despite being a small company, we’re making a big impact. On Kauai we generate ~70% of our island’s energy from renewable energy resources (Kaua’i Island Utility Cooperative). This means that by renting an EV from us, you can quite literally be powered by the sun, water, and biomass instead of fossil fuels. This allows us to create a circular economy by using our local co-op electricity. Pretty cool and a big win for conserving our finite resources! At Mission Zero, we understand the importance of protecting the environment. We pride ourselves on being able to provide Hawaii with the highest quality electric vehicle (EV) rentals.
Mahalo for choosing an environmentally-conscious mode of transportation while on Kauai. We look forward to connecting and working with you to provide a premier EV rental experience.
Mahalo and Aloha!
